CI vs Oxnard

Oxnard is also having a great year. We knew it would be a tough game! Channel Islands fought hard but Oxnard won 20-13.

We know the head coach at Oxnard and Adam’s cousin coaches there too! This was a fun picture of the two them standing next to each other!

In the 4th quarter Nik had an amazing 75 yard touchdown catch! It was beautiful! Max Preps says he had 4 catches for 85 yards, his longest being a 75 yard touchdown! It says he had 3 solo tackles and 1 assisted tackle. It says he caused and recovered one fumble.

Jordan and Marie were there watch the game!

Peace Builder Award and Mom’s Birthday

The school started a few new reward systems this year. One is Peace Builder Awards. Each Friday one age group of kids is highlighted. Today it was the 2nd and 3rd graders. Each teacher gets to give a Peace Builder Award to two kids in their class. Today Ariana was given that award! I am so proud of this girl!

Today was also my Mom’s birthday! We had lunch and cake and ice cream with everyone that was around! Nik and Zoe were in school but since the others got out early we had fun celebrating!

My Mom is amazing! She has taught me so much and I am extremely grateful to have her in my life and the lives of my kids!

Ammon’s Game Oct 16

Ammon had a game today that I finally made it to! It was a great game! His team won!! He played his best and did great!

The games are under the lights so it is so hard to take pictures! All of them were blurry but this one!

Jordan, Michelle and Marie are in town so they made it to Ammon’s game. It is so great to see them!

Parent Teacher Conferences

The kids have had minimum this whole week because of Parent teacher conferences!

I was super excited to hear from Tori’s teacher! I was not disappointed! She is doing great and is at the top of her class! She is a friend to all and always on task!

Kalixta designed this poster that was on her classroom door! She is quite the artist! She is doing so well in school and is a leader in her class her teacher said! She is always on task and is kind to everyone and a great help to her teacher!

Britain’s teacher had only amazing things to say about her! She said she could have a whole class of Basua girls and she would be happy! That compliment made my day! She said Britain is not afraid to take on challenges and then works her hardest to do her best!

Ariana’s was no less wonderful! Her teach loves her so much! She is a great student who tries to help everyone and is so helpful! Her focus in the classroom is awesome and she always does her best work!

Michael had to have turn too! He will not be left out! But he still can’t sit still and look at the camera:)!

Ammon is not into taking pictures but he is doing excellent in school. He is usually on task and strives to help those around him and is very kind!

It was great to hear so many good things about the kids and feel like I am doing a good job as there Mom!

Fire Station Field Trip

Michael and I got to go on another field trip with Tori and her class. This time we went to the fire station! It is so fun to see her with her friends! She is very giggly and huggy and cute!

She always takes care of Michael!

I loved this part. One of the firefighters dressed up in all his gear, the whole time talking to the kids telling them what he was doing. He explained that a lot of the time in fire emergencies the kids are afraid of the firefighters in their protective clothes. He crawled on the ground around each of the kids showing them he was ok and to not be afraid of him. Great lesson!

The kids got a tour of the fire station and everything in and on the fire trucks and fire engines!

They even got to sit in the driver seat!

The Firemen were nice enough to let Michael go to!

The each got their own fire badge!! Tori’s was lost before she got back to the school but Michael had his on all day! This is his fireman face!

Sunday Dinner

Once a month we go to dinner at my parent’s house on Sunday! We love spending this time with them and my brother and his wife and my Grandma! Yesterday when we went over we celebrated Ammon and Adam’s birthdays!

Adam got an awesome rhino!

And a gift card!! Yeah!

Ammon got a new wallet with money (his favorite!)!

He got some cool things to build!

Thank you all! We sure love you!

Dad made us awesome crepes for dessert with lots of fun toppings!! Mmmmmm!

Crazy Saturday

We had a crazy busy Saturday. I am so thankful everything worked out and it was a great weekend!

We started  by cleaning the our church building and then headed off to three awesome games!

We came home and cleaned up and headed to the movies! We never all go to the movies so this was quite a treat! Ammon stayed home with Michael, so it was Adam and I and all the girls! We watched Meet the Mormons! It was a great documentary! Go see it!! The kids loved this blow up in the hall way and my picture in the movies was really dark!

While we were at the movies my parents took Nik over to his homecoming date’s house!

They went to Gen for dinner and had a great time at the dance! They look so great!

CI vs Pacifica

Pacifica has a great team this year so we knew it would be a tough game last night! The Raiders played hard but it was a rough game. The final was Pacifica 38 Channel Island 3.

I love seeing the #8!

Max Preps says Nik had 1 catch for 11 yards and a kick return for 10 yards. He had 4 solo tackles and 1 assisted tackle. He also caused a fumble that CI recovered!

Britain got to go to this game with us! She had a great time working in the snack bar! She did come up and watch the last quarter of the game with me!

Pool Time

With so many kids playing sports and all their homework their has been little time to go to the pool. Yesterday all the stars aligned and we finally made it! It was great to relax!

Go Beck Park Raiders!

Ammon is playing flag football for the Beck Park Raiders again this year! He moved up and division and has a different coach. His team seems pretty good so we are hoping for a great season!

I was a little disappointed to get the schedule and find that he plays on Thursdays! Thursdays all the girls have practice at 3 different places so I get in the car at 5:15 and get home about 7:00. Michael and I drop everyone off and then pick everyone back up!

He had his first game today and I didn’t see a second of it! It is a good day for Nik so he got to watch him play and said he represented well!

I do know he looked good!

Last weekend he had a scrimmage. The other team was big and really aggressive. Ammon fielded the punt and got past a guy who then pushed him hard in the back and made him fly into the other players! It shook him up quiet a bit and he played very little for the rest of the game!

I was very relived to hear this game went smoother and he played well and he didn’t get hurt! He team won so they are starting out right!
