School Happenings

This week has been full of stuff at school! Britain’s class had the chance to go out to Channel Island University and learn about Dia de los muertos and see the library! She loved the huge library and was sad they had to sit for a story instead of exploring it! She came home with a cool make up job!

Ariana’s class had a visit from a fireman and learned how to be prepared in an emergency!

It was red ribbon week which means crazy sock day, wear red day, and my favorite, crazy hair day…pictures to come! Each class makes a door with a saying! They are all so cute!

Ari and Tori had a twins day…same shirt, jean skirt,  and same hair do.

Pumpkins

We made some time, by ditching practices, to crave pumpkins as a family! We had a small window of time so we started gutting the pumpkins after school!

Ariana and Tori were not big fans of putting their hands into all those guts! But they did it!

Michael didn’t like it either and would only use a spoon!

When Daddy came home we poked and cut those pumpkins up!

Michael loved poking and cutting!! He loved pulling the cute pieces out as I cut them!

Tori worked so hard to poke the pattern into the pumpkin! She did such a great job! Tori’s pumpkin says Wicked!

Ariana worked hard and did most of hers by herself!

Britain loved her pumpkin!!

The mascot at UPS is the dolphin, Kalixta thought it was a perfect fit for her pumpkin!

Zoe didn’t like they way hers looked until we lit it up! Then it looked amazing!!

Nik emptied his pumpkin, Adam poked it and I carved it! Team effort and it looked awesome!

Sugar Cookies

Grandma and Grandpa invited us over to make and decorate sugar cookies.

There is nothing better than Grandpa’s sugar cookies!

Everyone loves to roll out the dough.

And put the cookie cutters in!

Decorating is the yummiest!

Michael was soooo into it!

Britain and Kalixta’s are always very creative!

Pumpkin Patch

We finally made a quick trip out to the pumpkin patch today after all the soccer games. It was very windy but we still had fun!

I love my family!

We are so excited for Halloween!

CI vs Rio Mesa

The Raiders played at Rio Mesa tonight. We thought it would be a good game but it wasn’t! Raiders turned the ball over 4 times! Every time the offense got something going they would lose the ball. Can’t win a football game like that! It seemed that everything went well for Rio Mesa.

I didn’t have my nice camera but you can see Nik in the bright yellow! Max preps records Nik as having 3 catches for 56 yards, 38 yards being the longest. Nik had 6 solo tackles and 2 assisted tackles.

Zoe was at the game in her Rio Mesa sweat shirt but she still cheered loud for her brother!

Grandma and Grandpa always supporting Nik. Adam’s parents are always there supporting Nik. Grandma Mike made it to this and the Oxnard game and my Uncle Lloyd has made it to a few!

Nik’s good friend plays on the Rio Mesa team! They had a bet going as to who would win the game! Nik made good on his end!

Fall Break

This week the elementary and junior high have had Fall Break! Yippee that means no school, unfortunately the high schools still have school and seminary so I am still up at 5 am! But still kids home all day no schedule equals fun for us!

I am the mean Mom who schedules dentist and dr appointments when there is no school so we had a few of those this week! We also played at the pool!

Played at the park.

Watched a few of our butterflies hatch!

Traced and colored each other!

Figured out Halloween costumes!

And totally exhausted my children! Yes…she wears that crown everywhere!

Ammon had another great game! He played hard and his team won! He even had a 2 point conversion run!

It has been a great week! We love fall break!

Happy Birthday Marqus

Today is my nephew’s birthday! I was lucky enough to take him to lunch! Just me and him!

Marqus is a very smart, funny, imaginative boy! It was so fun to talk and hang with him. We had lunch at his choice, Taco Bell. Then dessert….mmmmmmm!

Love you Buddy!

Party! Party!

After soccer games on Saturday we rushed across town to help a few cousins celebrate their birthdays! October is a busy birthday month for our family! Adam’s sister Diane has 3 kids with birthdays this month! Jada and Monique turned 1 on the 15th and Marqus will be 6 on the 22nd. They had a fun party at the park!

Pinata time!

Britain with a birthday girl!

The second party of the day was a gender reveal party! My brother Jordan and his wife are expecting twins!!! They are due in March. We are so so exciting for them!!!

I also have another brother whose wife is having twin boys and another brother who is due in March too! SO many babies! Yippee!!

Anyway Jordan and Michelle came to CA to have a gender reveal party! They come over and had a personal party just with us after their big one since we couldn’t make it!

Everyone got to pick what they thought the twins were!

Then they stood in a line and Jordan and Michelle sprayed silly string on them! Pink for girls, blue for boys or pink and blue for both!

Most the kids picked girls but a few thought the twins would be a boy and a girl!

Boy and Girl! The kids are so excited, just like the parents!!!

It was so fun to have Jordan, Michelle and Marie here for the weekend! We sure miss and love them a ton!!!

Happy 6th Birthday Tori!

My sweet fiesty Tori turned 6 today! I can’t believe it!!

She got her perfect dinner of homemade chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes and green beans!

She only really really wanted one thing! A princess Sophia dress. That is what she got! And she LOVED it!

She got lots of hugs and loves on her special day!

She got everything she wanted and more! Thanks everyone, she had a great day!!

Tori asked for a candy corn cake! Zoe did a great job on it!

Happy happy birthday to my intelligent, creative, silly, thoughtful, caring, stubborn, slow girl! Tori always goes at her own pace and does not like to be rushed! She loves to stay up late and sleep in! She is so smart and loves to read whether or not she knows the words. She loves to count by 1’s 5’s and 10’s! She dislikes lots of foods and is one of my pickiest eaters! She also does not like to work and tries to sneak away or goes so slow I get mad! She is very stubborn and knows the best way to do things and won’t change her mind! She loves her siblings and is very protective of them! Never be mean to Michael when she is around! She has a very nurturing nature and loves with all her heart! My world is so much better with her in it!

Soccer Saturday

Another Saturday on the soccer fields! And another day with soooo much going on! Adam and Nik headed to the temple early so Nik could be back for 11:00 practice. Ammon and Zoe went later in the afternoon with the rest of the youth from our ward.

This is a typical Tori face when she is one the field! She says she likes playing and wants to play again next year but her face sure doesn’t show it!

Ariana runs like crazy every time she is on the field! She is fast and she has to be since she is so small!

Tori and Kalixta thought Auntie Rie made the best pillow!

It was so fun to have my sister there with us!

Britain and Kalixta were team captains!

Go Pink Panthers!
