Core Knowledge Night

My kids go to a great school! Tonight they had a Core Knowledge Fair. They had tons of activities to show what the kids have been learning. We had a blast!
The kids made Inca masks.

They also made volcanoes. We came home and erupted them.

The kids loved watching the volcanoes foam all over the place. Ammon picked the blue hot lava!

We also did petroglyphs, played with magnets and then made our own. We learned about roller coasters and musical time periods. We didn't have time to do everything. They had a Greek photo booth that we missed out on and I was bummed! We topped the evening off with ice cream sundaes. It was great night. I am so grateful that my kids go to a amazing school that makes learning so fun!

(No title)

Since the girls had to get all dressed up for dance class I thought it would be fun to have a photo shoot of them together. It turned out great! Britain is a natural! She loves to pose and takes direction really well. She just needs to remember her left from her right;-)!

Kalixta is another story. She does not like posing with Britain! She gets tired fast and her smiles either turns sour or she opens her eyes too much and she looks crazy. But all in all I think she had a fun time. Especially when she got a treat after words!

Dance Performance

Kenny and Marci signed Kalixta and Britain up in a local dance class for their birthday. Marci has been taking them the last 7 weeks. Today was their big performance. I have heard so much about the dance it was so fun to see it all together!

Here are a few highlight pictures of the night. All these pictures were taken after the dance.

Here is the dance. The lighten really sucked with the camera. Britain is in the front and Kalixta is in the back.

Be sure to check out Marci's blog (Platt on the sidebar) to see more great pictures from the night!

Monkey bread, anyone?

Tonight for family night we made monkey bread. I just recently discovered this great desert! And I love it for many reasons. It is not expensive to make and tastes wonderful. Everyone can help make it and I don't go crazy. It takes thirty minutes to cook and smells divine! Great motivation! "You need to hurry and finish cleaning _____, get your pajamas on whatever. Desert is almost ready!" It is easy and fun!

I am so grateful for this extra pair of arms!!

Monkey Bread
1/2 c butter
1/3 c sugar
1/3 c packed brown sugar
1 T cinnamon
3 cabs buttermilk biscuits

Preheat oven to 375 F. Coat inside of a bundt pan with cooking spray. Melt butter in small bowl. In another bowl mix both sugars and cinnamon. Open first can of biscuits, separate and cut each into 4 sections. Roll each into a ball then put into the butter and then into the sugar mixture to coat. Place balls evenly in pan. Do the same with the other two cans of biscuits.
Sprinkle the remaining sugar and butter over the top and bake for 30-35 minutes. Let cool for 2 or 3 minutes before turning the bread onto a large plate and carefully removing the pan. The yummy goo is really hot!
Don't leave in the pan too long or it will stick and be hard to remove.

Enjoy!

My Wall

My wall is finally finished. This project has taken way longer than it should have. I bought new matching frames to put current pictures of the kids in. At first I didn't have a picture of Ari. Tori's for a while was just ultrasound pictures. Now each frame has an up to date picture in it.

I put everyone's name under their picture.

I wanted the saying, "Children are an heritage of the Lord… Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them:" above the pictures. I cut out the trial letters, put them up and didn't like the size. I cut out more put them up and then didn't like the way they were arranged. I took them down and put them up again and finally like it.

SO today I cut out all the real letters and got them up on the wall!  I love it! It is perfect! It is beautiful!!

More Tori!

More?! Yes I know you are getting tired of pictures of my little chub! But I can't help it. I feel like she is growing so fast I have to take pictures of everything. I thought the last babies were supposed to have fewer pictures than the first ones? Not in my house!

So here she is! Again!

My Tori Girl!

I love the age that Tori is at.She smiles and laughs so easily. She is a good napper. She is working on being a good sleeper (Nice way to phrase that, huh).

Tori can grab and hold onto lots of things now. She almost threw my plate on the floor! She puts everything into her mouth! Her hands, clothes and toys. I took these a few Sundays ago when she was practicing!

BYU Basketball

The BYU Women's basketball team had their last home game today. Marci reminded me so the two of us went. We took Tori with us. They lost in overtime, but it was a good game and lots of fun to watch.

Tori was all decked out in her Cougar shirt. I was so excited to get a picture of her with Cosmo!

CAUGHT Red Handed

As I was wiping the table off I noticed crayon writing on it. As I sprayed and scrubbed I realized it was not crayon. Someone had scratched letters into the table. I was so mad. Closer examination brought a little laughter! The culprit had scratched their name into my dining room table. There was no denying. No "It wasn't me." No nothings! Someone was busted! Can you tell who?!

If you look close you can see a Brit. The ai is really small and there is no t.

BUSTED!!

Out on a limb

This morning as we are getting ready for school Adam looks out the window to see what the dogs are barking at. He says, "What is that?" A number of nasty things went through my mind as all the kids ran to the window. "It's a cat." he said much to my relief! So it was. A large cat was stuck high in our tree with Charlie and Maisey barking at it!

We brought the dogs in the house hoping the cat would be able to get down by itself and finished getting ready. The kids kept giving updates, "The cat is still in the tree."  I look at Adam like go get it down and he looks back saying,"I have take the kids to school. YOU go get it down." "ME?! No way!" I hate doing things like that. What if it's a mean cat and freaks out when I try to get it. He leaves and I take a few pictures. The cat starts crying. She sounded so sad I couldn't leave her to wait for Adam. I got the ladder and got her down. She was very grateful and didn't hurt me! She ran fast across the street to her home. And I got to be the hero. I help the poor little kitty.
