Monkey bread, anyone?

Tonight for family night we made monkey bread. I just recently discovered this great desert! And I love it for many reasons. It is not expensive to make and tastes wonderful. Everyone can help make it and I don't go crazy. It takes thirty minutes to cook and smells divine! Great motivation! "You need to hurry and finish cleaning _____, get your pajamas on whatever. Desert is almost ready!" It is easy and fun!

Monkey Bread
1/2 c butter
1/3 c sugar
1/3 c packed brown sugar
1 T cinnamon
3 cabs buttermilk biscuits

Preheat oven to 375 F. Coat inside of a bundt pan with cooking spray. Melt butter in small bowl. In another bowl mix both sugars and cinnamon. Open first can of biscuits, separate and cut each into 4 sections. Roll each into a ball then put into the butter and then into the sugar mixture to coat. Place balls evenly in pan. Do the same with the other two cans of biscuits.
Sprinkle the remaining sugar and butter over the top and bake for 30-35 minutes. Let cool for 2 or 3 minutes before turning the bread onto a large plate and carefully removing the pan. The yummy goo is really hot!
Don't leave in the pan too long or it will stick and be hard to remove.

Enjoy!

Thank you Melissa! Sounds like fun! Again, you always have such great ideas!

  1. This reminds me of the monkey bread we had growing up at my friend’s house. Her mom was the best cook. I can’t wait to make it.
