Tennis

We played tennis today for family night! It was fun and frustrating! I am not good, hence the frustrating part. Adam impressed me with his tennis skills!

Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father's Day to the father's in our lives:

Sleepy Time

Britain, Kalixta and Ariana were playing a game. They each filled a laundry basket with blankets and pillows and were pretending to sleep and then wake up. They were downstairs for a good hour before Britain and Kalixta came up. They told me Ariana was really asleep in the laundry basket and I needed to take a picture. I was feeding Tori so Zoe volunteered to go down. She got the best pictures of the cutest little sleeper!

Oh, how I love sleeping kids!! One of my favorite sites!!
IMG_8438
Zoe had to take one of herself too. Not the best picture of her, but I love it! I think it is funny she wants to take her own picture. I was never like that. I still hate being in pictures or on video! She is becoming a great photographer!!

Braves

Nik is really having a great year in baseball. He is pitching well. He has a number of strike out this year.

IMG_8708
He also plays catcher and is really good.

He is hitting really well too. He has only struck out once or twice in the last thirty times at bat. He gets good solid hits. He has had two in park home runs already! Last week he hit in the winning run. They were tied in the bottom of the last inning. There was a runner on third and first and two outs! He got a good hit and the runner on third scored winning the game. It was great!!

Coach Adam at work.

Right now they are in first place! If the finish in first they will have a chance to play for the state championship. Good Luck Braves!!

Flag Day

Happy Flag Day everyone.Yes, I know it was yesterday, but we celebrated it today. You see, in this part of the good state of Utah the Boy Scouts of America put a flag in everyone's yards. They use it as a fundraiser but will put a flag in your yard either way. I love how it makes the neighborhood look! It is beautiful to drive around and see flags in every single person's yard!

Now that Nikolas is 12 years old he gets to help put the flags up and take them down. Yesterday he volunteered to do not one, but two routes because it looked fun! Lucky Adam got to drive him and a friend around this morning to put flags in all the yards.

Adam lucked out and got to go golfing with his brothers and sister in law so the kids and I drove Nik and his friends around tonight so they could pick up the flags.

Ammon had to get in on the picture taking and was goofy! Or cool! However you look at it!

Hot Air Balloons

Yesterday we all woke up at 5:30 to go to a hot air balloon festival. I didn't know what to expect and I was a little nervous that we would get up so early for nothing. All my worrying was for nothing. We had so much fun. We got to the park at 6:30 as they started to fill the balloons with air. We got to watch eight balloons be filled with air, the air warmed up, and the balloons take off. All the kids had a blast. The only regret was that we couldn't go up in a balloon. We learned a few things and we will be prepared next year because this is something we will go to again and again.  It was that much fun and it was FREE!

Here are some of the balloons as they are being filled with air.

Then they will heat the air and turn the balloons upright.

Now the balloon is upright!

The kids loved watching!

As the balloons lifted off they drop candy down to all the waiting kids. The kids would run from balloon to balloon as they left the ground!

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad

My Mom and Dad are celebrating their 33rd anniversary today! They are a great example to me and I love them very much. I couldn't find any pictures of when they were first married. (Guess you need to send me some Mom.) This picture was taken in 1979. Aren't they cute!! Love you guys!

Happy Anniversary!!!

Happy baby!

My happy baby is back. Tori's rash (Tara you were right!) is gone along with most of the fussiness! She has a little cough still which usually only appears when she is sleeping. (Why is that?!) She is back to being my sweet laughing baby!

Part of all the sickness the last two weeks must have been because of her teeth, which finally broke through Monday! If you look super close you can see two bottom teeth.
IMG_8784
She also learned how to kiss this week. It is so sweet even though it takes a bit of coaxing to get her to do it. I love it!
IMG_8674
She gets really distracted by the camera. Zoe had to work really hard to get this picture.
IMG_8666
She was trying to get the camera but I love this picture too. She will always know her Mommy loves her best!!

Softball

Zoe is enjoying softball more and more. She plays right field and likes it because she gets to back up first base. She is always ready. Whenever the ball is thrown to first base she is there. She doesn't get the ball much but that is how she likes it. The other position she plays is left field but she doesn't like it there because "no one ever throws the ball to third base!"

She doesn't like batting. She usually just stands there and waits to be walk which happens often in this league. I want her to start swinging and get come confidence at the plate. I hope that will come in time.

I don't know if she will play again but she is having fun, making new friends and learning some fun cheers!
GO ZOE!!!

It’s a secret!

Kalixta and Britain are going to a pre-k class at Reagan. It helps get them familiar with the school, the classroom, the teachers and the flow of kindergarten. They started last week and have loved every minute of it. Today Kalixta brought home this art piece and I laughed out loud when I saw it!

Kalixta
Can you see under her name in the top left corner it says, A secret? This is Kalixta's answer to things when she either doesn't know or doesn't want to tell you. I can just picture her teacher asking Kalixta what the picture was and Kalixta's mischievous smile as she answered "It's a secret." I love that I have it captured to remember for the rest of her life.

My favorite example of this "It's a secret" happened a few months ago. Now I don't remember all the details because I didn't blog about it but it went something like this. Kalixta and Britain were supposed to be cleaning but there was a lot of noise coming from downstairs. I called Kalixta to the bottom of the stairs and reminded her that she needed to stop playing and clean up. She started crying and said, "I hate you!" I put on my best Mommy face and said, "What did you say?!" To which she responded "It's a secret." The conversation continued from there but you get the idea of how she uses the sentence and why I laughed out loud when I saw it.
