Valentine Crafts

So I know you are dying to know what crafts I did for preschool this week since the tissue paper one was vetoed!  So here you go!!

I used pink paper, white paint and heart cookies cutters!!

We glued conversation hearts in a V shape!

We used heart cut outs and crinkled paper to make Valentines Girls! The girls all loved them!!

We used the tissue paper and glued them flat down on a heart to make Valentines for the girls’ Moms and Dads!

I used their hand prints to make a heart! I found that here! I love how they turned out! I will have to make this with the other kids!

We, of course, had to make envelopes to hold the Valentines too!

All the girls had a great time with the stickers!

I had a great time and I know Ari and Tori did too! I hope all the girls did!

Tissue Paper Art

I have preschool this week when we are going to celebrate Valentines Day! I am so so excited and have been thinking about it and planning since last month! I decided I wanted to do something I remember doing in elementary school. It’s when you have squares of tissue paper that you gently wrap around the end of a pencil, dip in glue and then stick to a certain holiday shape. In this case a heart. Do you remember doing this in school? Well my kids have never done it and I needed a little holiday decoration so I did it with the kids. Plus I needed to try it to see if it would be too hard for Ariana.

Well not only was it hard for Ariana it was hard for everyone!! So it got vetoed for preschool, but it was fun and the end results look really cute!

Working hard!!

Finished products!

Ariana did get the hang of it and she did hers all by herself!

Tori got glue on her shirt so she had to change it!!! I just spread glue all over her heart and she stuck the tissue paper on it!

Kalixta really got it and was the first one done!

Britain really struggled and Kalixta helped her finish! It was cute to see them working together!!

Ammon hated this project! I told him that he just needed a little practice and we would do it for every holiday for the rest on the year! He did NOT like that idea!

Zoe did good and liked it but thought her heart was too big to do the whole thing. She outlined hers and then glued the middle flat!!

Sweet Note

I found a sweet note and a surprise on my bed the other day! Now don’t judge but I am not good at making my bed or picking up all the clothes on my floor. Ammon and Zoe decided to use this and made my bed and picked up the floor! They left this sweet note on my bed!

Zoe writes:
Dear Mom & Dad,

We are greatful for all the things you do for us… So we made your bed and kinda straitined (straightened) up you room.

Love,

Zoe & Ammon

Ammon adds to the note:

Whers (where’s) my money

Crack me up! Adam and I had a good chuckle at that. I also loved that their idea of straightened up was putting all the clothes in a few piles in a couple different places in my room!!

Happy Birthday to ME!!

I had a fabulous birthday a few days ago!! Adam took over the day and spoiled me! I got a nap! Which was AMAZING!! He made a delicous dinner for me, creamy chicken enchiladas with homemade refried beans and rice! Let me tell you I was in heaven!!!! Don’t those look amazing?!?!

The kids loved giving and helping me opening presents!

I got lots of my favorites!

I got lots of LOVE too!

Adam got me the perfect cake! Raspberry cheesecake ice cream cake! Perfect day! Perfect ending! My poor little Ariana was sick and only wanted a little love!

It was a day to remember!! Thanks everyone for all the love!!! Especially to my sweetheart for making it so great!

Ballerina Girl!

Tori is a little ballerina! She loves to wear leotards and dance around the house! She also likes to do things all by herself. Sometimes this turns into a funny funny combo!

She was totally crying because she wasn’t getting her way. I got the camera out to distract her. She immediately stopped crying and posed like this!

The whole thing in on backwards and inside out!

She posed a little more and then I asked her to turn around so I could get a picture from behind so you could tell that her legs are in the same hole and she posed like this!

We are never bored with this little one running around!!!

Nine People In January

I saw this idea on my friend’s blog at the beginning of last year! She called it six people in whatever month it was. Six cause that is the size of her family! I watched her do it and thought what a cute idea! Then someone asked me for a family photo and I didn’t have a current one. I was so bothered. I take tons of pictures but they were always missing the one taking the picture, usually me!

For a goal this year I decided I would take a picture of the whole family once a month! I got really excited about this and started planning all the different places and ways I could take the pictures in each month! I had the perfect idea for January! Then life happened! Nothing worked out the way I wanted it too and the picture I wanted never worked out! So I came up with plan B which didn’t work out either because life happens!! So here we are the last day of January and I had no picture. What did I want to do? Quit! Give up before I even got started! But that is no fun and not the way I want to start a new year! So here is my nine people in January!

Notice the pj’s? And all the unbrushed hair? I could name a number of things wrong with this picture but it is my family! I will remember how sick the girls were this week! I will remember all the things that didn’t work out. I will remember Zoe turning 11 and Britain and Kalixta turning 7. Nik, my teenager who will not wear pj’s in a picture! Tori, a stubborn 2 year old who wears her leotard to bed because she doesn’t like jammies! I started a hair blog this month and cringe to see only one girl with her hair brushed. But it is my family with my memories and I love them! I love this new adventure I have started on and can’t wait to see how it goes!!!

My creative Ariana

I went to tuck Ariana in one night and found this note she had Adam write on her door!

I had a good little chuckle and later asked Adam if he wrote down exactly what she had said. He said he had to paraphrase because she talked for about 5 minutes! That is my talker!

Believe me when I say she asks me to knock every time I want to come in! She will go up to bed and then come down to remind me to knock before I come in!!
Another day she found some balloons so she had me blow two up for her and two up for Tori. They then went up to Adam and had him draw faces on the balloons and then they named them! This is one of them!

Sleeping Tori!

I have posted pictures before of the weird places Tori finds to fall asleep. Our new house is no different. She really likes to fall asleep on the stairs!

Since the move Tori has had a hard time sleeping at night. She gets up a few nights a week. A few times this month she has gotten up at 6:45 or 7:00 am. This is when I am up getting all the kids breakfast and ready for school! So she has to come right downstairs. She doesn’t like the light so she cries, “I can’t see! I can’t see! I can’t see!” and covers her eyes! Every time I have put her on the sofa and cover her with a blanket, she pulls the blanket over her face and goes right back to sleep!

She cracks me up!!

First Class

Nik has been working so hard and has earned his First Class in scouting!! Last night he recieved it at the Court of Honor! He also got two merit badges!!

His posing always makes me laugh!

I a super proud of him and all his hard work! He is getting closer and closer to that Eagle Award!

My new venture!

I decided to try something new. I am really putting myself out there and I am a bit nervous and very excited!!! So what’s the news you ask? I have started a hair blog! So far all the feed back I have got is really positive and I am very thrilled!

I actually have had this idea for about 9 months. I finally started and told Adam. He was excited for me and ready to help me any way he could. He set up a better site and got it all ready for me. Then I got cold feet. I didn’t post and used excuses such as Halloween, we were moving, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and life. Through all this I couldn’t shake the feeling that deep down I really wanted to do this! So here I go!!

I just started it so I have a long way to go! Check it out and let me know what you think! What can I do to make it better? Any suggestion would be great!!
