Rich People!?

I’m cleaning up dinner yesterday and Nikolas, who is supposed to be finishing his homework, comes out of his room with a blanket draped over his shoulders and announces, "Look at me! I am a rich person!"

Okay! I think. He starts strutting around the living room.

"How do you know rich people dress like that?" I ask.

"I see them!"

"How many rich people do you know?"

"None. I see them on t.v."

I don’t know what he is talking about, but it was so funny I had to take pictures.

Sick Again!

Well, at least Ammon is. He has strep throat and an ear infection! Poor guy! He has been quarantined to my room to watch t.v. and eat Popsicles. What a life! He is actually doing really good though. Hopefully he will be back to school tomorrow. Which leads me to the real reason for this post….I have a favor.

At school Ammon is starting to learn about the U.S. His teacher asked if we would ask friends and family to send postcards to him from all the different states they live in. I thought "WOW! I can do that!!" So if you would all be so kind as to send Ammon a post card with a picture from your state to…

Spring Fever

I talked to Nik’s teacher yesterday. She was telling me spring fever has hit the fifth grade. Everybody likes somebody and that causes weird, silly things to happen (as you can image if you remember the fifth grade!) She confirmed that Nik still likes the same girl.

Talking with Nik’s teacher made a conversation I had with Nik make more sense. Here’s the conversation…

Nik: "I can’t wait until I am 16 so that I can date."

My jaw drops to the floor as I calmly responded, "Oh yeah. Is there anyone special you want to take on a date?"

Nik: "No, but it will be weird to be on a date with you and Dad."

Me: "What?! Why would Dad and I be on a date with you?"

Nik; "Well you said when I turn 16 I can only group date. Since you and Dad date and I want to date we will have to go out together."

So I explain to him what group dating was and who else he would group date with. The relief on his face was evident as he realized he wouldn’t have to date with his mom and dad.

Hmmmmm, maybe we could make that rule for the girls though!

Kalixta

I took Kalixta to get her pictures taken. She did good. She was too worried about smiling that she was little tense. But she took some cute pictures and I get to mark something off my to to list!

Easter!

Easter was a blast! We had our usually BBQ, egg hunt and confetti eggs. My family that lives here came, a good family friend, Mike, Marie’s roommate, Ester, and a family from the ward. We had lots of good food and tons of fun! It was a little chilly, but the sun was shining!

Ari had fun during the egg hunt. She was content to follow anyone who called her and pick up the egg they found. She found the most hard boiled eggs and her basket got heavy. I tried to trick her and take them out, but she knew and got mad at me! She wasn’t too sure about the confetti eggs. She liked to dump the confetti out of the eggs onto heads. When I got her with an egg she said "Heeeeyyy!" It was cute.

We put a secret ingredient into the eggs this year. Flour! It made the whole experience much more messy. Everyone looked like they had aged a few years because the flour looked like gray hair!

Easter Eggs

I love watching the kids dye Easter eggs. Ariana didn’t react the way I thought she would. She was very tired and only did a few eggs before going to bed early. Nik was really into writing and making designs on the eggs with a crayon before dying them. Kalixta is steady and true. She has fun.

Britain was my favorite. She wrote Marci on an egg and then dyed it green, because that is Marci’s favorite color. Then she did it again and again! There must be at least 10 green eggs with Marci on them.

Anyways we had a blast! Click on the picture to see more pictures!

I’m Back!

I got scolded on Saturday by my sisters for not blogging. Sorry!! So here are some pictures I took to put on the blog and didn’t.

Ari loves to color. She is so cute to watch. I love the way her tongue sticks out when she is really concentrating. The hardest part is keeping the color on the paper!

Simple Adventures

When we were in CA Adam asked the kids if they wanted a coconut. They did, of course, and asked several people for one, even Uncle Kekoa. They didn’t get one and they were disappointed. I mean California has tons of coconut trees(palm trees) why didn’t any of them have coconuts? It was a good joke for quite a while.

Well we came home and I bought the kids a coconut. They were so excited. They were sure it would taste great. I told them in the morning and all day long Brit and Kalixta would ask when they could have the coconut. Finally with everyone here I used a hammer and nail to put holes in it to drain the milk. Everyone wanted some and no one liked it! It was so funny to see their faces as the tried something they thought would be so good and is wasn’t. Talk about disappointment.

Next we used the hammer to crack it open. They loved this part. Some of them still had hopes that the meat would taste good. But they were very disappointed. No one liked it. Zoe would only lick after Ammon spit it out. It was a fun, simple adventure. One I will never forget. I wonder what we can try now?

Britain

Before we all got sick I was trying to have pictures taken of the girls. I took Britain to have hers taken. She had so much fun! She loved smiling and posing for the photographer. Here is a sampling.
