We waited until Sunday to decorate the tree. Every time a new person enters our family (either through birth or marriage) my grandparents buy two ornaments with their name on it. One for their tree and one for the new person's tree. This is a special tradition for me. We always put those ornaments on the tree first! Tori got hers and it is beautiful! It says Tori on the back!
Nik scolded me for never having pictures of me on the blog. Here you go Nik!
Adam and his ornament!
Ariana putting hers on the tree.
Heeere's Britain, such a poser!
Zoe lookin' a little crazy!
Nik got two or three ornaments up and then he was "bored"!
Kalixta getting a little help from Uncle Jordan!
Kenny is helping out by holding the baby!
The kids!
The crew!
The last ornament on the tree is a pickle. Adam hides it while the kids are downstairs. The first one to find it gets the first glass of eggnog! Ammon found it this year!
From Germany legend has it that the pickle brings good luck and was the last ornament on the tree. On Christmas morning, the first child to find the pickle was rewarded with an extra gift from Santa. The tradition encouraged the children to appreciate all the ornaments on the tree rather than hurrying to see what Santa brought. In our house the pickle finder gets to open the first present.

I am so sad I missed out, but it looks great. I love Ammon and Zoe on the floor modeling for the picture. And is that The first time Kenny has held Tori?
(I finally left a comment for you Mel. Merry Christmas!)
What a cute idea! Your tree looks beautiful!
We missed you too Marie! No, that is the second time Kenny has held Tori! So cute, huh? Thanks for the comment Marie. I love it!! I don’t think I will see you before you go home so Merry Christmas! Love you!
I love having a little “Basua-ness” coming to me over the internet! I love all the pics you post, my friend. You are an awesome blogger!
I love all the pictures. But in the group picture in front of the tree I’m counting all the kids and trying to figure out who is missing. I was overlooking Nik because I thouht he was one of the adults. He looks bigger than Marci and Melissa. Wow! Love you all.
Isn’t it great just to have someone hold the baby for you? Of course, you have 7 kids and I only have four, but none the less, we never have enough arms!
