Nine People In January

I saw this idea on my friend’s blog at the beginning of last year! She called it six people in whatever month it was. Six cause that is the size of her family! I watched her do it and thought what a cute idea! Then someone asked me for a family photo and I didn’t have a current one. I was so bothered. I take tons of pictures but they were always missing the one taking the picture, usually me!

For a goal this year I decided I would take a picture of the whole family once a month! I got really excited about this and started planning all the different places and ways I could take the pictures in each month! I had the perfect idea for January! Then life happened! Nothing worked out the way I wanted it too and the picture I wanted never worked out! So I came up with plan B which didn’t work out either because life happens!! So here we are the last day of January and I had no picture. What did I want to do? Quit! Give up before I even got started! But that is no fun and not the way I want to start a new year! So here is my nine people in January!

Notice the pj’s? And all the unbrushed hair? I could name a number of things wrong with this picture but it is my family! I will remember how sick the girls were this week! I will remember all the things that didn’t work out. I will remember Zoe turning 11 and Britain and Kalixta turning 7. Nik, my teenager who will not wear pj’s in a picture! Tori, a stubborn 2 year old who wears her leotard to bed because she doesn’t like jammies! I started a hair blog this month and cringe to see only one girl with her hair brushed. But it is my family with my memories and I love them! I love this new adventure I have started on and can’t wait to see how it goes!!!

But without this picture you might not remember any of those things! Sounds like a perfect thing to journal so your kids can know (when they’re parents) that life wasn’t as perfect as it seemed. 🙂

Great idea. OF course, now I’ve already missed January … 🙂
