Bubbles and Water Balloons

Our dear sweet friends the Packard Family spent the 4th of July with us. They are so fun to hang out with! They have seven kids like us. Even better there is a friend for all my kids to play with. It works out GREAT!!

They brought these HUGE bubble wands when they came over. We all had fun trying to make bubbles or trying to pop them. This is Carlos practicing!

Adam had to try and he did a great job!

We also had water balloons at our party! Everybody loved those, of course. You can see Ammon behind Adam playing a game. The big boys popped the balloons faster than I could take pictures! (Levi actually took some of these pictures! Good job Levi!) The little kids just like to hold and play with theirs!

Tori even got in on the action. She loved the water balloons! She would suck on it and pull the knot with her teeth. She popped a few on her too. She didn't cry too much!

Championship Game

The championship game was tonight! It was a great game. Nik pitched the first three innings and didn't get any runs. This was a good team too. Usually they win by 10+ runs. He was doing a great!

IMG_9594
Our team was hitting and so we were winning 4-0. Adam put another pitcher in who was playing great. Then some stupid technicality happens. Everybody spends 10 minutes discussing it and the results went against us. We had to take out the pitcher and put in a new one. He didn't pitch too well and they got 5 runs. So we lost. It was a heart breaker. We really should have won, even the other coach told Adam that! It was so frustrating to lose on a technicality, we were the better team! Nik is bummed. He did have an awesome catch while playing catcher!

We had cake and ice cream Saturday with family and friends! I won a decorated cake at a service auction at church last week. My sweet friend made Ariana this cake and Ariana loved it! It was so perfect for her! Marie is helping her hold it! Isn't is amazing?!

Along with the candles the cake had a sparkler on it! It was scary at first but she warmed up to it. She blew and blew until the sparkler and candles were out!

Nik had an awesome game tonight. He pitched three inning and only had one hit which he threw to first for the out. He also went two for three up to bat!

Hoodie

The weather has been weird this summer. We have had LOTS of rain. I don't mind. It keeps things on the cool side, gives us rainbows and the thunder and lightening storms here are awesome! The cooler weather has also given me the chance to dress Tori up in this cute hoodie that my mother in law gave her!

LOVE IT!

Outlines

The kids wanted to do something fun. I remembered a friend of mine traced her son's shadow on the sidewalk with chalk and he colored it in. It looked like such a fun activity but I didn't have chalk. I do have a HUGE roll of butcher paper left over from Jordan and Michelle's wedding. We cut off big pieces and got the crayons and had a blast outside.

I traced each of the kids and they spent the next hour putting clothes on their outline.

Britain went as far as to say, "This is the best day ever!"

Kindergarten Days at the Doctor

Today I took Britain and Kalixta to kindergarten days at the doctor. It is the doctor's fun way of getting kids ready for kindergarten by getting their shots, vision test and other tests done. The first thing the girls were ask to do was pee in a cup. It was hilarious listening to them discuss that."We have to pee in a cup!" giggle "How do you pee in a cup?"giggle "Why do we have to?" more giggles "I don't want to drink out of that cup!"

They had their temperatures taken, oxygen levels check and blood pressure taken. Kalixta thought it all tickled but Britain cried because the blood pressure cuff was squeezing her arm too hard. They had a finger prick to test for anemia. They didn't like that at all. They thought the vision test was funny! Then came all the fun checking from the doctor. Our doctor is great and had the girls giggling through all of it!
The nurse then brings the girls t-shirts and wants them to take a picture with the doctor. Britain automatically starts posing. Kalixta is much more shy and doesn't know what to do. She starts doing her nervous signal and the doctor liked it and did it too. Here are the pictures!

Then came the shots which they screamed though. They ended up with a juice box, a granola bar, a passport to kindergarten, a t-shirt, and FOUR stickers so it was a good trip!
