Ice Cream Ice Cream

We all scream for ice cream! 

We had our second game tonight. It was a hard game! We were missing some players, didn't play well and they were a good team. But we still had a good time. The best part was after the game when Kenny's Dad took us all out for ice cream!! 

Tori loves ice cream. She always opens her mouth big when that spoon comes. Tonight she tried her first ice cream cone. It was funny to watch her lean forward and put her whole mouth on the ice cream!

Sundays

Sundays are the best at our house! After church every Sunday all the fam comes over for dinner! I love having everyone here! It is loud and crazy and so much fun!

My First Softball Game

I am playing on a co-ed softball team! All the family here is playing. They all played last year but I was pregnant. Marci would tell me next year you can play. I would just laugh and think, 'You wouldn't say that if you saw me play!" Well she saw me play and still let me be on the team!! I haven't played softball since I was about 5! I am not good but I had fun. I got on base twice but since my ankle is still sore they sent in a runner for me. I also play first base since there isn't much running there! It was very exciting ! I got a few outs and missed a few outs!

The Beach

Yes these pictures are from our CA trip that was a few weeks ago. We've been doing so much I am just getting around to blogging them. 

We can't have a trip to CA without a day at the beach planned. This was our last day in Oxnard. My mom, Marie, Jeff and Kylie joined me as well as a few friends. It felt so good to chat and soak up the sun while the kids ran out all their energy!

It was the perfect day to go to the beach. Lots of others had the same idea and the beach was pretty full but we had a great time. The kids are getting braver and braver in the water… as long as Jeffery is near. He took all the girls out and jumped them over the waves!

Cami went with us too. She is a little fish in the water. She goes way deep and plays around. It amazes me! She is a great help with kids too. She buried all the kids at least once! Here she is burying Britain!.

Fruit Leather

We have an apricot tree in our side yard. Last year was the first fruit we had seen on it. I was pretty excited, but between the wasps, ants and birds there is not a whole lot of fruit to harvest. I was telling my Mom I didn't know what to do with it and she had the greatest idea! Fruit leather! My Mom is always full of great ideas. The next afternoon it was just me and the four young girls (Marie took Ammon and Zoe to Seven Peaks Water Park!! Thanks again Marie!!). Tori went down for a nap so it was perfect timing!!

Britain and Kalixta cut the washed fruit in half and took out the seeds.

Then we pureed the fruit and poured in onto a cookie sheet that had parchment paper on it!

While I was in California my mom gave me a new flirty apron that she made!! Isn't it SO cute! Thanks Mom!!

Baked it in the oven for like 10 hours on low. It turned out good. I cooked it a little too long so the edges where crispy and hard to get off the paper. Can't wait to try another flavor….like strawberry!!!

Old McDonald had a Farm!

Our adventure yesterday took us to a farm! A friend has an amazing number of bunnies. She also has guinea pigs, cows, dogs, cats, horses, chickens, roosters, goats and a pig! She lets us come over and play with her animals. We got to hold them and feed them. The kids had a great time.

Everyone got to hold a bunny. These bunnies are pretty young! They also had looong claws!

There was all different types of rabbits. One had the longest hair I have ever seen. It made the bunny look huge!

We also got to hold the guinea pigs. This one had the fluffiest hair ever! He was easier for the kids to hold because he didn't move as much as the bunnies.

Zoe's favorite part was the pig! It's name was even Piggy. Zoe says when she gets a pig she will name him Piggy too. She loves pigs but this is as close to him as she would get. I tried to get her to kiss him but she wouldn't!

Zoe did most of the photography! She is getting so good. There was about 10 pictures of the pig alone and tons of all the chicken roaming everywhere!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

I had the chance to take my kids to the newest LDS temple, Oquirrh Mountain, on Friday. It was the second temple they have been able to tour this year. It was beautiful! I love going to the temple and feel so blessed to be near so many and have the opportunities to take the kids inside.

More Haircuts!

Zoe had Marci cut her hair a few weeks ago. Since then Kalixta has been asking for hers to be cut. I have been trying to put it off. I like her long hair, but the day finally came. She remembered to ask Marci yesterday and it all came off! She looks super cute and she loves her new hair!!

Of course Britain had to follow and her pretty long hair is in the trash. She wanted her hair just above her shoulders. Marci made the cut and then Britain put her shoulders down! It is shorter than planned, but looks great! This morning Britain comes up stairs and says,"Look Mom, my hair is still cut!" Yes, I know sweetie! It doesn't grow that fast! Best thing, I only had to do Ariana's hair today!

Size Matters!

Before Nik left for CA I wanted to see how tall he was compared to me. I knew he was taller than me. He passed me up the beginning of May and there is no stopping him. He eats like crazy and grows the same. Until Zoe took this picture I didn't realize how much taller than me he was!

Bad, bad picture of me but isn't he getting tall?! Everything about him is bigger than me! His feet, his head, his hands, his arm span and on and on! He is just growing up in front of me! I have decided I just might be the shortest in my family!

After taking this picture and thinking about it I decided I wanted to start a new tradition. I have a picture of me on my wedding day with three of my four brothers (Joey was on a mission.). They are all shorter than me! Now they all tower over me! So I decided every year around the same time I want to take a picture of the kids lined up in birth order to see how they have grown. This isn't the greatest picture but it will do. I think it will be fun to see them grow each year!
