Happy 628 Day!

Today is 628 Day. June 28th! It is always a special day in our house for reason's mentioned here. Every year Adam sends out an email to all his friends and family. This year it was such a good message that I had to pass it along. Sorry if you already got it but it is well worth reposting! So here it is!

Hello
Everyone and Happy 628 Day!

Once a year, the date ends up being 6/28 and I have claimed it
as a personal holiday. Many of you know why those numbers are significant to me
and if you don't…well then send me an email and I will be happy to let you in
on it.

This year I wanted to send out another video that I hope will
inspire us all. The setting is a funeral. A man who was a husband and father has
died and his wife is given some time to speak to the gathering. At first, I was
kind of shocked at what she was saying and I wondered if it was a joke. But then
everything changes and you find out what she is really getting at.

Here is the link to that video. Please go and watch it now…
it's only 3 minutes long and then come back here and I'll finish what I have to
say.

Video

Tell me that didn't touch you… even the slightest bit? I hope
that it did. That feeling you got comes from one place and is a gift available
to us all.

The video made me think of my wonderful wife. I am truly a
blessed man to have such a great woman at my side. It is so amazing to have her
with me on this life journey. I don't know what I would do without her. Yes,
there are times when I do get angry or irritated at her "imperfections."
Sometimes… they seem so unbearable that I wonder how I am going to get past
them. Unfortunately, I do not always handle myself like I should. I want to do
better and I will.

I have decided that every time I get angry at my wife or
irritated with her… I will watch this video. I hope that it will dissolve my
ill feelings and remind me once again how blessed I am. This quote I love best
from the video.

"In the end, it's these small things that you remember… little
imperfections, that make them perfect for you."

That's a profound statement. It cuts to the very center. It
helps me appreciate what I have in my life.

As you go about this 628 Day, I hope that my little message adds
something to it. I appreciate that you would even read it.

Until next year.. thanks, and have a fabulous
day!

Great isn't he?! I am so lucky to be married to someone so sweet, loving and so eloquent! The way he is able to express himself makes me a little jealous because I can't do that at all. The things I want to write rarely come out sounding nice and always have a typo! Hopefully I can just say that. "I love you Babe more that words can say! You are my everything!" And you get everything I want to say!

Happy 628 Day!

My little business man

Ammon brought home about 30 tootsie pops from school on the last day. He set up a stand out front and sold them all for $0.25 each. He then used that money to buy more tootsie pops and Laffy Taffy, which he then sold out front. Next he decided to sell snow cones. Nik helped him make a BIG sign!

IMG_5544
We found an awesome recipe for snow cone syrup on line. It is easy, cheap and really good tasting! He puts the flavors in empty water bottles and pokes a hole in the top!

IMG_5543

He sets up his stand and sits out there for hours!

IMG_5545

I know he gets his initiative from Adam. Adam was always selling things as a boy! He sold everything from greeting cards to pepinos!  Those two are so very much a like!!

Tin Foil Art

I did a fun art project with the kids this week called tine foil art. All you need is a piece of card board covered in tin foil, glue and tissue paper all cut up. The kids loved painting the tin foil with glue and sticking piece of tissue paper on it!

IMG_5560

IMG_5558

Tori loved painting with the glue but had a hard time with the paper!

IMG_5563

IMG_5571

The finished products were all so unique! It was fun to see each one's creativity!

Jumping Bean

The kids spend a lot of time outside jumping and playing on the trampoline! That is one of the best things we have ever bought. Last month Zoe taught Tori how to jump, actually jump on the trampoline.

IMG_4938

IMG_4944

She loves dragging someone out there to play with her. It is the cutest sight! Thank goodness for nets though!!!

IMG_4946

Zoe got a little video of her first attempts!

(No title)

My Mom came for a visit last week. She came to surprise Marci at her baby shower! It was a great surprise with tears and all. She was able to spend the week with us and we had a great time.

She was able to go watch the boys' baseball games!

IMG_5521

IMG_5523

We went out to eat for my brother, Jordan's birthday. We went to the Red Iguana in Salt Lake.

CIMG0756

My poor Mom doesn't get much of a vacation when she is here. She folded laundry, cleaned the kitchen, picked up toys and washed dishes numerous times! She cut and hemmed ripped jeans into shorts. She even put all the patches onto Nik new bigger scout shirt so he would have one that fit at scout camp next week!!! She even took all the kids to McDonalds! They are still talking about it! For me it was a wonderful visit! I hope you had fun to Mom!! Love you and thanks for all the help!!!

Happy Father’s Day!

I know, I know I am behind! That is the story of my life:)! I couldn't let to much time pass before telling my husband how great he is! He is the best Daddy! He always has time to play with the kids whether it is a card game, watching a cartoon, or making faces for them!

IMG_5367

He always listens to their complaints and tries to be fair as he listens to both side of the fighting! I do not have the patience for that! I will just punish everyone, which is why the kids go to him now when there are fights!

IMG_5464

He works so hard for our family! I am grateful that he is such a wonderful, incredible, amazing Dad!

He is just what I want and need!

IMG_5473

Here are a few pictures that just melt my heart!!

IMG_5527

We love you!!!!

IMG_5537

I can't forget my Dad and my Father-in-law! Two amazing men I am lucky to have in my life! We love you both! Happy Father's day!!

Painting Rocks

Michelle always has the best projects for the kids. She has been painting more rocks lately. She painted Adam a rhino to go in the garden.

IMG_5493

She painted a rock for Point Hueneme Lighthouse! Amazing!

IMG_5495

She thought it would be fun to let the kids paint a rock too. So she painted 7rocks white and let the kid go!

IMG_5280

IMG_5281

IMG_5282

IMG_5284

IMG_5287

Jordan helped Tori stay on the rock!

IMG_5288

They all had such a good time! Painting it always fun! Michelle took the rocks home and sprayed them to be weather proof. It also made them all shiney which is the perfect touch!

IMG_5496

IMG_5492

IMG_5497

IMG_5501

Ariana painted her own A and Jordan helped her with R and I. She ended up painting lots of A's and then I's and then R's to spell AIR instead of ARI!

IMG_5503

IMG_5508

Tori put all different colors all over her rock. As she finished Jordan added her hand print which is the perfect final touch!

IMG_5511

All the beautiful rocks!!

IMG_5499

Love it!!!

Books On Tape

Adam's Mom gave us all her books on tape for the kids the last time we were there. The younger kids love listening to them!

IMG_4964

There are lots of fun stories!
IMG_4962

We listen to a few daily!

IMG_4965

Thanks Mom for sharing with us!!

Balloon Fest 2010

Last year we discovered Balloon Fest in Springville. We went again this year and it was even better! It is so fun to see the huge balloons being blown up!

IMG_5201

It starts at 6:30am! A little early and the kids were a little cold at first!

IMG_5202

IMG_5205

IMG_5207

The weather wasn't cooperating. It was too windy so the balloons didn't take off. They just blew them up for a while and then took them down. That was a big bummer but it was fun to watch one guy with a rope at each balloon try to keep the balloons from blowing over!

IMG_5203

They had a face painting booth!

IMG_5209

A jolly jump and one of those obstacle course ones!

IMG_5219

Ammon did rock climbing!

IMG_5226

There was lots of cotton candy! And everything if free! Yes, everything!!

IMG_5229

We got to go up in a hot air balloon!! It was so awesome. Since our family is so big we had to split up. Adam took Tori, Zoe and Britain.

IMG_5242

Tori didn't like the noise at first and covered her ears! But she did like going up!

IMG_5238

I took Ammon, Ariana, and Kalixta with me! They all loved it!

IMG_5247

IMG_5250

Nikolas had to go with some random people! He is in the bright blue jacket!

IMG_5270

The Orioles!

Ammon is on the Orioles this season! He is in machine pitch for the last year. He loves baseball and enjoys every game but he is ready to move up a division!!

IMG_5071

He thinks machine pitch is not challenging enough! His goal for himself is to hit the first pitch every time. He is usually successful!

IMG_4987

He is a smart base runner!

IMG_5063

And he is so fast!

IMG_4988

He has a great coach who lets the boys try a different position every game. Where ever Ammon plays he is ready!!! He is very focused and serious when it's game time!!

IMG_4852

IMG_5075

IMG_5061

Ammon is good at every position but first base is his favorite! I think it is because all the action is there!

IMG_4856

If you look close you can see the ball coming in. I think he caught that ball. He has caught a few this year!

IMG_4902

Nik took all these great action shots!

IMG_4903

The girls usually take off to the park during the games so they love to go. Tori and I just hang out!

IMG_4847

She loves to steal my hat!
