Nik’s 15th Birthday!

Nik turned 15 this week! I know I say this every birthday, but dang I can’t believe it! He got lots of love from all his family and friends! Thank you so much!!

He got to celebrate four days in a row!! He loved his ice cream cake! He is a little embarrassed with all the attention! I love his cute, shy smile! He wanted the same dinner he has picked for about 6 years, sweet and sour meatballs!

He is pretty excited about his ipod nano!

That fact that it attaches to a watch makes it that much better!!

Nik with his Uncle Jeff and Auntie Kylie!

Nik and Adam! Adam is still a little taller! hehehe! Nik is not to happy about that!

Nik is an amazing kid! He loves his Mommy and isn’t afraid to show it! He is not embarrassed of me or our BIG recognizable van! He still loves to give me hugs! He is humble, generous and kind! He is concerned about other’s feelings and tries hard to make everyone around him happy! He is such a help to me! Always willing to reach something high or carry something heavy! He is the first to get Michael or Tori when they cry or get hurt! He is also the first to fight for the front seat and kicks Ammon out of their room! He is a moody teenager at times and likes his space and to hang out with his friends! But he has a testimony of Jesus Christ and a good heart! I love him!! I am so grateful to be his Mom!

Homerun

Ammon had a HOMERUN Saturday at his game!!

I couldn’t be more proud of my Ammon!

Michael is a big fan of Ammon! He is all over the place causing trouble but pauses often to clap for his big brother!

Superlatives

Nik is almost done with 8th grade! It is crazy to think he is almost in high school!

The 8th grade voted  for superlatives last week. He was voted Best Dressed and Most Spirited! They were only allowed to be two superlatives other wise he would have won Best Athlete too. He was a little embarrassed to have won any thing! I was super excited for him though! I hated junior high school so to watch my son pass through it with out too much trauma makes me happy, to see him thrive and be a good example to those around him brings me joy!

He had to take pictures Wednesday. He was so nice to let me take a few to remember this stage in his life!

I love that big cute smile! Can you tell he is laughing at me?!

Being my silly Nik!

New shoes!

Best Dressed

Most Spirited and a lot crazy!

Love you Nik! Proud of you too!

Petition

We moved!! Our house has four rooms and 2 and 1/2 bathrooms. We are loving loving it!!! As soon as I get more stuff put away I will post pictures!:) The half bathroom is downstairs. Adam and I decided that  no one can use that bathroom so that it will remain clean when guests come over! When I told the kids there was a little grumbling because they use that bathroom a lot, particularly when they get home from school!

Anyways the other day I notice there was some papers taped to the door. Here is the bottom paper!

It says “Locked. Do not go in this bathroom do not go potty or anything in here please Thank you. sign here if you agree”. Then there are names written and crossed out!

Above this note is another one!

This one says, “If you do not agree sign!” I found out that Britain didn’t like our new rule so she was trying to get it changed!! Later I heard Kalixta asking the little girls if they wanted to use this bathroom and if they did to sign their names!!

I had a good laugh over  Britain’s little petition!

Hair Cut!

We spend a lot of time in the car! The school the kids go to is a little less than 20 minutes away. It is a great school and I am very thankful that my kids go there, but it does mean a lot of driving. Tori gets especially bored in the car. She does love to play her favorite songs LOUD and sing along. Monday somebody forgot something important so after dropping everyone off at school I drove home and got it and took it to the school. Tori didn’t complain and actually took a little nap so I was thankful….until I got her out of the car! She had cut a hole in her pj’s! AND some chunks of hair off the front!! She took the scissors from Ammon who always has scissors to do his origami!

She balled up all the hair and put it behind her carseat so I wouldn’t see it!

Kylie came to my rescue! She came over and fixed Tori’s hair! She said she could just blend it but I had already convince myself that she was going short! Here are her lovely long locks before!!

She held really still as Kylie cut her hair!

And After!!

Yes she is wearing a dress up outfit!! We just got the dress up box out and the girls have sure missed it!! They are always is cute costumes now!

Here is the back!

Tori loves her new hair and has loved showing it off to everyone!!! Thanks again Kylie!

Update!

Marci scolded me again for lack of blog posts!! We have been crazy busy with life lately, but I am sorry!! We are in the middle of baseball season!  Ammon and Nik are playing and doing great this year! Adam is coaching Ammon on the Padres! SO perfect, right? Nik is playing for the Storm and has both his Dads coaching.

Ammon plays second base, short stop or center field.

Ammon is so quick and is great at stealing bases!

Nik is having a great year! He mostly plays third because, according to him, he is the only one that can throw all the way to first! He also pitches and catches.

His team is very good and has only lost one or two games! I love to see the two of them out there together!

Nik hit an over the center field fence homerun Saturday at his game! It was a shot and he was pretty happy. The only bad thing? I was not there to see it!! I was bummed but thank goodness my brother Jeff was there to witness it for me!!

Hula Hoop!

Ariana has discovered hula hooping!! She has been practicing and working hard to learn how to do it!! She is sooo fun to watch and has improved tons!

My favorite part of watching her hula hoop is her tongue! She sticks it out with concentration and sometimes even moves it back and forth!

So here is a little video of my cutie practicing!

She just has to watch Kalixta to learn! Kalixta is an amazing hula hooper! She can do it for a long time! She makes it look so easy!

She can control the speed and even walk forward and backward doing it!! Check her out!!

Tori has to try to! She is just as big as everyone else!! I love her tries and how she waits for my reaction each time!!!

Writing

Tori loves to do her homework! When we are driving in the car she will tell everyone “Sssssshhhhhh! I am doing my homework!” It is too cute! Last week at one of Ammon’s games I showed her how to spell MOM. She wrote it for me! The M’s are a little funny but I love it!

She writes my name all day long! She even spells it out loud to me!! Sometimes it is M-O-M and sometimes it is O-M-O! Sometimes a W gets in there too!

Shaving Cream Art

I saw this idea on another blog and I didn’t think it was going to work, but I was wrong! It worked and the pictures looked beautiful!! And the kids had a blast!

It all starts with shaving cream! Anything with shaving cream is way fun!

Then we added a little food coloring, yes food coloring!

We used toothpicks to spread the color around!

So pretty, right? You then put a piece of card stock right on top and push it down softly but firmly. Pull it off and squeegee off the shaving cream and all the beautiful color is left!

Each picture turned out so cute and so unique!

The kids, of course played and played in the shaving cream and got all dirty. Their hands were pretty colorful when they were done!

Michael joined in the fun too!

He had a great time getting shaving cream everywhere!!

Rainbow Pictures

The Friday before St. Patty’s Day the kids had off so we had to do an art project!! My idea was just a rainbow out of torn colored paper, but my little artists took it to a whole new level!

Britain added a leprechaun under the rainbow and a big pot of gold!

Kalixta added a boy and girl leprechaun sharing gold with everyone!!

Ariana adding a flying leprechaun!

Tori is a little copy cat! She wants and can do everything the other girls do! She added her own stuff!
