Nik Did It Again!!

I wish I could say that Nik had his best game ever!

That he scored the winning touchdown again!

That he sacked the quaterback again!

That he had the game changing play, again!

But I can’t!

Two Fridays ago Nik dislocated his knee cap, again!

He started out having a great game, two tackles for a huge loss of yards, an awesome catch. The end of the 1st quater he came out of the game and didn’t go back in!

It is so hard to see my son hurting and not being able to help! He wanted to play so bad, but he couldn’t put any pressure on his knee!

He watched the rest of the game from the back of the cart!

He said it felt like it did when he dislocated it, so we put the knee brace on and he has been on crutches.

Wednesday I took him to the Dr’s. We spent the day getting 2 x-rays!

He was kinda embarrassed to get wheeled around!

A CT scan.

And an MRI!

Friday the Dr. said surgery! There is a piece of cartilage that got banged off when the knee cap was dislocated and it is hanging out behind the knee cap causing pain! The ligament on the inside of his knee is torn and needs to be reconstructed!

Wednesday is the big day!! Halloween, I know, that is a date I won’t forget!!

We spent Friday registering at the hospital and getting blood work done! She did it on this arm and the blood stopped coming so she had to do it again on the other arm! Poor Nik, he does not like needles!

Then we went and got him a new brace! This one is long and makes him feel like a cyborg!

He will start physical therapy soon and will be back to normal in 4 months! Just in time for baseball! His knee will be stronger than ever!

He is feeling good and a little nervous for Wednesday but excited that this will (hopefully) never happened again!!

Where’s Michael? Boo!

Michael is 16 months now! He is at such a fun age where he loves to mimic and do everything the kids do! A while ago the kids taught Michael to play peek-a-boo! He loves it! Now all we have to say is, “Where’s Michael?” and he will cover it eyes!

Sometimes he covers his mouth!

Sometimes he covers his eyes and peeks!

However he does it is adorable!

Then he will wait a few seconds, uncover his face and yell Boo! Sometimes even Peek-A-Boo!

Where’s Michael???

BOO!!!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my Mom’s birthday! My Mom is amazing and I am so happy we were here for her birthday! We had cake and ice cream on Sunday!

She got lots of love and homemade gifts and cards from the kids!

Ammon made her some Halloween origami!

Happy happy birthday Mom!!! We love you tons!!

You are a great example to our family! We are so blessed to have you as a Mother and Grandma!!

Game Day

CI’s coach took some pictures from the side line and posted them on Facebook today so I thought I would share them!! Fridays are so fun!!

Nik is number 42!

Pumpkin Crafts

There is something about this time of year that makes me want to do fun crafts with the kids!! We love doing anything with pumpkins! This first idea came from Adam and we did it for family night last week! I didn’t get any pictures because it was pretty messy and therefore super fun!

And super tasty!! We had lots of fun whipping these pretzels into pumpkin with white chocolate, food coloring and green M&Ms!

When a friend of mine posted a picture of her pumpkin preschool craft the idea was too cute to pass up!! The kids love their toilet paper roll pumpkins!!

The girls used glue but Ammon used the tape he got for his birthday! The tape worked much much better!

Kalixta took her’s to school for show and tell, now the teacher is going to make them with the whole class! That made Kalixta’ s whole week!!

Tori had to make the whole thing herself!! The pumpkin and her fingers were covered in glue but she did it and she is proud!!

Last but not least Britain and her pumpkin!

Ammon Crossed Over

When a Cub Scout turns 11 here there is a short crossing over ceremony. This is where the Cub Scout crosses over and becomes a Boy Scout! Since Ammon’s 11th birthday past he got to participate in this ceremony at Pack Meeting last week! He walked across a bridge with the Scout Law and Scout Motto on it! He recited them as he walked across!

Ammon is so very excited to by a Boy Scout!!

At the pack meeting Ammon also received more pins!

My two adorable scouts!!

Adam’s Birthday!

Adam celebrated his birthday yesterday! We all had a great day!!

The kids love love love to celebrate a birthday. Of course they love theirs the best of all but Daddy’s is a close second! They love shopping for him and always have lots of ideas of what to get him! As always he got lots of love! Look closely at the gift from Tori! She wrapped it all by herself!!

Getting presents from Britain!! She knows what her Daddy likes!!

Adam is the best present opener! He gets so excited no matter what he gets! It makes the kids feel so special because they just got him exactly what he wanted!!

I do think he was the most excited about the oreo cookie caramel apple Zoe bought him!

Ariana had to read Daddy the enormous card she wrote all by herself to him!!

Kalixta and her Daddy!

My two Buzz’s!

Nik is a little jealous of the cool shirt he gave Dad!

My Grandma gave Adam a new apron. It is super special because it was my Grandpa’s! The saying fits Adam perfect!!

I made a new chicken recipe for Adam’s birthday dinner that he liked but the kids were so so on! We had the missionaries over so that made the night even better! Adam couldn’t decide on one cake so we had the ice cream cake and peach cobbler!! Once again, thank you for all the thought ful gifts, calls and text!!

Happy happy birthday to my amazing wonderful husband!! You have changed my life completely!! I can’t wait to celebrate more and more birthday with you!! I love you!!

Ammon’s 11!!

Ammon turned 11 today!! It is hard to believe! He was just a little trouble maker not too long ago!!

He had lots of fun celebrating Sunday with family and then again today! He chose Orange Chicken with corn on the cob for dinner. He wanted the amazing ice cream cake too!

He is really excited about his new shoes that he went with Grandma Mary to pick out! He can’t wait to see how much faster they make him!! Ammon loves to run! Short distance or long, it doesn’t matter! He is the fastest in his class and I think in the fifth grade!

Ammon got lots of love on his special day!

He is really the silliest kid ever!! His facial expressions and the silly things he says always make me laugh and sometimes annoy me too!!

He has lots of sisters to be silly with!

Ammon got the awesome army guys he really really wanted!

He got a few things that make me laugh but that I knew he would love, tape, post it’s and camouflage duct tape! Ammon continues to love origami so that is why those items will keep him happy and occupied for hours! He also got some more origami paper!  He got some awesome Star Wars legos and of course chips!! Gum is Ammon’s other love that he got today too!

Ammon has been so excited to turn 11 because it means he moves from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts!! He can’t wait for this new adventure!! He is really excited to join his great friend Anghelo who is already there! He got his new scout book from Grandma Mike!

He had his first Boy Scout meeting tonight so I got his new shirt all ready with his badges and numbers! He looked pretty sharp!

I love this boy!!

Thanks for all the love, calls and gifts! Ammon had a great great day!!

Road To Eagle

Nik took one step closer to becoming an Eagle in Boy Scouts last night! He became a Life Scout!!

I am so proud of my son!!

He also worked hard and earned SEVEN merit badges!!
