Ice Skating

Nik, Zoe and Ammon went ice skating with their church youth group!

They had a great time trying to skate. Nik really struggled the whole time! He tried his best though and it was so fun to watch him!

Ammon was shaky at first but he got it quickly and was zooming around!

Zoe had been skating with a friend earlier so she had a little practice. She did really good! She laughed after saying it was the first sport she was better than Nik at!

She invited a friend from school and they had a blast!

On the way out we saw the mascot for Famous Dave’s outside!! I had to get a picture with the kids! Adam and I have been waiting for this restaurant to open! We will be eating there soon!

State Tournament

As mentioned before Ammon’s team won first place in flag football. He and his team work hard and earned money to go to the state tournament in Carson, CA. Adam and Nik took Ammon, they left early in the morning for their first game which they won! Ammon had the first touchdown of the game and they went on to get one more!

The team took a break and played in the hotel room! They went back for their second game that they lost but they played so well and all had a great time. Ammon had a catch that left the sidelines with their months dropped open! Adam said it was NFL worthy! He had another touchdown in this game! They were out of the tournament but celebrate the season by playing in the pool and hanging out! They got home late but had a blast.

Happy Happy Birthday Dad!

Wishing a very happy birthday to my Dad today!

Christmas Tree

We got our tree up and all decorated this year!!

I love our tree. It makes our house smell good and makes it look like Christmas!!

Turkey Apples

We always make apple turkey as a fun Thanksgiving tradition. This year we wanted to make them brown, according to Kalixta’s request, so we dipped them in carmel! Yum! Yum!

Michael loved the whole idea…especially the eating!

Update on Nik

I took Nik to the Orthopedic Surgeon that did his knee. He took x rays and checked him out. He put him in a sling for the rest of the week.

Being silly with Grandpa’s glasses!

Nik and I went another day for an MRI.

Then another day back to the Dr for the results! It was a long week with Dr appointments! The results were good, no tear or major damage. He just has to wear the sling for 4 weeks and then re-evaluate!

Eagle Award

Nik’s good friend earned the highest Boy Scouting Award. He is now an Eagle! We went to the Court of Honor to support him!

Tori had to take a picture too!

And Michael too!

Congrats Manny!

First Place Flag Football

Ammon’s team played their toughest competitors for first place. It was a great game! A close game!

Ammon played great and had a blast!! I love watching him play! Ammon had a number of great catches and runs to help his team win!

CIF vs Santa Monica 11-15-13

CI headed to their first CIF game vs Santa Monica at Santa Monica.

It was a good start and both teams were playing well. At the end of the first quarter Nik went out for and caught a beautiful 30 yard catch. After the catch he didn’t get up. It was agonizing to sit in the stands and watch the coaches come to the field. I could see his legs moving so I knew it wasn’t his knee. He came off the field and I texted Adam, who was on the sidelines, to get an update. He dislocated his shoulder. He didn’t go back in the game. It was hard to watch him hurt and hard to watch his team lose! He was mad at himself for getting hurt but what can you do! It was a sad end to an amazing season! I am so proud of Nik and his team! Can’t wait for next year!
