Awards
Today was award day at Nik and Zoe’s school. Each child in the whole school gets a medallion in the category that best fits that child. Zoe got the friendship award. Mrs. Bird said that Zoe is well liked and a friend to everyone. She also said that Zoe was nice to everyone. What a wonderful award!
Nikolas got the reading award, because he has the most reading minutes in the class by far. She said some of his classmates tried to beat him but they just couldn’t catch up. Way to Go Nik!!

Ammon’s Graduation
Ammon is a big boy now. He graduated from preschool this week. He got a cap and a diploma. I even had a parent-teacher conference with Miss Kara. She told me how popular Ammon is in school. She said the other kids actually fight to sit next to him! They have to take turns sitting next to him. How cute is that??!! He has always been a charmer like his Uncle Nicky! Miss Kara made an year book for him. Each page has pictures and little summary of what they did each month. It is wonderful! She measured and weighed him at the beginning of the school year (Sept.) and he was 35 pounds and 3 feet 6 inches. At the end of the school year (May) he was 36 pounds and 3 feet 8 inches. Yeah!!! My little man is growing!!! Now he is all registered and ready to start kindergarten. I can hardly believe it. He is a special boy and I am lucky to be his Mom!

Our Baseball site
Since Nik and I are involved with the local youth baseball league here in Spanish Fork, I decided to create a separate blog for the team I am coaching.
We are the Blue Jays.
We had our first game on Wednesday and won 12-9. Nik did really well… but if you want to know the details just go to the site.
Here is the website: http://buzz628.typepad.com/blue_jays/
I’ll put a permanent link to the site on the left of this blog so you can get to it anytime.

Sunday Dinner
I think every family has one. The one child that always gets blamed for all the bad things that happen. In my family it is the third oldest, Jason. If something was missing, Jason took it. If something was broken, Jason broke it. If something was not put away, Jason did it. If anything happened, Jason did it. Now to be completely honest most of the time it was Jason. Although if you asked him he would lie to the death, (now he admits to some of the things but not all of them).
Why am I telling you this? Well yesterday we had our normal family Sunday dinner. Jason and his wife Jamie were here along with Marci and her boyfriend Kenny, and Jordan and his girlfriend Michelle. We had a great dinner and yummy cake for Jason’s birthday. The kids were all in their PJ’s and ready for bed and Jason asks them if they can run in the air. He demonstrates by running, jumping up and running in the air. The kids think it looks fun so they practice and we all laugh at how funny they look, which encourages them. So we are all laughing and Jason demonstrates it again. This time he runs, jumps, runs in the air and lands very dramatically on the kitchen table where Adam is sitting- totally breaking the leg of the table. The leg snapped so loudly and the tabletop fell on Adam’s leg along with all Jason’s weight. We all started laughing. It was hilarious. The story of Jason’s life, always breaking things!! So we duct-taped the leg back on, sent the kids to bed and played one last card game so we could end on a good note.
Take a look at our table leg:

Game Day
Nikolas had his first game yesterday, a practice game, but a game nonetheless. He is on the Blue Jays. He looked so sharp in his uniform. He started at first base, moved to catcher and finished by pitching. He got walked on his only at bat. He had a good game. The score was 2-0 in our favor so that made the game even better. My kids had a good time crawling all over the bleachers and getting red paint on their clothes since the bleachers had recently been painted.
Last night was also pack meeting, Pine Wood Derby!! Adam and Nik finished the car last week and Nik has been waiting for last night ever since. Nik’s car is dark blue with raptor stickers on it and is, of course, #6. Each boy raced four times. Then they decided on the top two boys in each den and they race to find the fastest car in each den. Nikolas was in the top two for the Bear Den. He raced and got second place and a red ribbon. He was pretty pleased. Each boy also got a award on how their cars looked. Nikolas got the Meanest Machine Award because of the raptor stickers. He loved that!

Dental Assistants?!
Today Britain and Kalixta had their first ever dentist appointment. Ammon went too for his normal check up. They all received cute letters from the dentist, telling them what was going to happen. They were excited to go and ride in the fancy chair that goes up and down.
We get there and it is a fun place so everyone is happy. As the dental hygienist, Eric, started cleaning Ammon’s teeth, Britain had twenty questions so he let her help. She held the chocolate flavored toothpaste as he cleaned Ammon’s teeth. She held the floss and shook the fluoride can and finally she got to press the button that moves the chair. She was so excited he let her help with Kalixta’s teeth too. He even gave her a glove and a mask so she looked like him. It was the greatest thing ever! When it was her turn Ammon got to be the assistant complete with glove and mask. And Kalixta? She is content to read her books and sneak her cheerios!
The kids had a blast at the dentist and that was even before the big goodie bag they got. I love finding treasures like this that make being a Mom easier. Oh, and super good report- NO CAVITIES!!!
