Football Again!

Nikolas is playing football again after over a week suspension from his parents. (He had to stop playing because he choose not to turn in quite a few math assignments!) He is happy to be out there! He used to play the whole game and do the kick offs, but he lost a few of those positions. He played defense the whole time but didn't do the kick offs today. That disappointed him a little, but he understands!

He was a little rusty but he did get an interception! He almost had two more. He also had a few good tackles. He is number 44 on the black team. the Bears!

He has an X on his helmet because, according to the rules, he can't run the ball because he weighs over 105! He was really bummed about this. He wanted to play running back or receiver. Now he has to wait until next year!
Adam stayed home with all the kids. It was so nice to just sit and watch Nik's game! When I came home Adam informed me I would be upset with two of my little girls. So I called Ariana upstairs and this is what I saw…

Kalixta drew on her face, her chest, and her legs with permanent green maker! Yeah, I was a little upset. When I asked Ari what happened to her face she said, "Ari face funny!" and laughed. What a cutie! How can you not laugh at that!

In between all that I did Zoe, Britain, and Kalixta's laundry, helped them clean their room, cleaned two bathrooms and all the other normal cleaning that comes from meals. I did even take a short nap! Yippee! I am not complaining. Since this serves as a journal for me I want to remember how life was. I love that the kids are playing sports. I think that it is an important activity in their lives. I am enjoying this phase in life. After all this is what I've always wanted! (I have to remind myself of that often!!:)

Once There Was a Snowman

This is not wishful thinking for snow to come. I am really enjoying the weather right now! It was Britain’s choice for a song to sing tonight for our family night. It is another example of what a cute phase Ariana is in right now! Please excuse the singing! We are not a family of good singers, but we do like to sing!

You have to love the nudge I gave Zoe in the head with my foot. I was trying to get her to stand up since everyone was waiting for the example! Ahh what a good Mommy I am, yikes!

Some People Say…

…that motherhood is a thankless job! I beg to differ…today! So far today has been one of those days when I really really love being a stay at home mom. (Cause I will be honest. I don't always feel like this!) Britain had a doctor appointment this morning so I am trying to get all the girls ready to go. I call Ari up from downstairs to get dressed. She comes running saying she is stinky! So I get the wipes and a diaper and change her. The whole time she is saying "Thank you Mom! Thank you Mom!" When she was dressed and stood up she gave me a huge hug and kiss and said "I Love YOU!" This is the first time she has said that without being prompted! I almost started crying! It was so sweet!

There are not enough words to describe was a sweet girl Ari is. She is squishy and loving, reasonable and so very happy. I truly wish she stay at this age forever!

As we are going out to the car Britain says "Can we take the Jet?"  I said what?! SO she repeated, "Can we take the Jet. Oh no Daddy already took it!" She was referring to the Jetta (our other car). Yeah sweetie I wish we had a jet!

The doctor appointment went good (meaning everyone behaved!) So life it grand!

Boys’ Room

When Nikolas left for CA my goal was to paint Ammon's room so when Nik got home he could move downstairs with Ammon. Well I finally moved Nik downstairs with Ammon! It took me way too long and I am not finished yet, but they are sleeping downstairs and I can start getting a room ready for the baby! I changed my mind tons of times concerning the colors and design. The end result was not what I wanted, BUT I am happy with it and the boys love it! This is where is started.

My idea was to paint three walls a dark blue. The wall with the window on it would be a light blue with dark blue strips. I started with the light blue and loved it. I then painted three coats of the dark blue to have it still look uneven and blotchy! I got some advice from a friend who said I needed to prime the walls with a tinted primer (When I ask the Home Depot worker if I needed to prime he said NO!). So I got a tinted primer and Marci and Marie helped me paint it and then give it two more dark blue coats! All the walls but one still looked uneven and just plain BAD! So after Jordan and Michelle tired to help by putting on more dark blue coats I decided to paint two of the walls light blue and then put light blue strips on the dark wall. Marci came another day and helped paint the walls light blue. Then her and Kenny put the light blue strips on the dark wall. After all those coats we had a really hard time getting the tape off without peeling the paint but it is now done. This is Nik's side of the room!

And Ammon's side of the room!

I want to put a shelf all the way across both sides of the rooms for the boys' trophies, knick knacks and stuff they don't want the girls touching. I need to touch up the ceiling too. A lot of dark blue paint leaked under the tape. Michelle is going to paint a bit Y on the wall and with new closet doors it will be finished. And I like it! Now on to the baby's room!

Rainy Soccer Games!

It rained this afternoon, but no games were canceled! Ammon and Zoe were drenched when they were finished, but the had a blast! Adam volunteered to stay home with the kids so I was the only other one drenched! Thanks Babe! Zoe played forward and goalie. She almost had two goals and she saved one! Her team won 3-0. They played so good they were rewarded with a beautiful rainbow at the end of the game! The rainbow was complete and very bright (and very close! Ammon was mad we didn't go find the pot of gold!)

Zoe played goalie in her last game and saved everything! She was named Player of the Game! (She was mad this info was not on the blog last week!)
Ammon had another great game. Beginner soccer is so funny! It seems like there is lots of running and only a little kicking! I love to watch it!

A couple funny/cute/gross things from today. Nikolas and Zoe both got to feel and see the baby have the hiccups today! They both loved it! Nikolas like it the most. He has been quite intrigued that I can feel the baby move, so to feel it himself was really something!
Okay, that was the funny/cute thing. Now for the funny/cute/gross thing. Zoe was brushing her teeth tonight so Ariana is in the bathroom brushing hers too! (She brushes with each kid so her teeth are SUPER clean!) I go in to check on them and find Ariana spitting into the toilet! There was no stool so she couldn't reach the sink so she made the best of it! Thankfully she wasn't getting to close and I cleaned the toilet today!

Kalixta’s 1st Day of School!

Hip Hip Hooray! Kalixta's first day of school was great! She paused half way up to side walk to wave bye to me! She loved the teacher, her friends, coloring and all the fun toys! She doesn't know anyone's name which made me laugh. This is Kalixta's favorite hairstyle! She says she is going to have her hair like this everyday!

My problem now is there are three more days until they get to go to school again!

Miss Kara always measures and weighs the kids at the beginning and end of the school year to see how they've grown. Kalixta is two pounds heavier and two inches taller than Britain.

Britain’s 1st Day of School

Britain started preschool today. Boy, was she excited! She has been counting down the days! We went and bought a backpack to take up some time in the morning since she started after lunch. She pick a Mickey Mouse bag. She was so excited she didn't eat anything! She barely stopped on the way to the car to take a picture for me!

IMG_3497

I opened her door to get out of the car and she was gone! She didn't say bye, wouldn't stop for a picture nothing! It was cute. I am glad she is excited! I hope she always stays that way!

The best part was picking her up! All she wanted to do was talk to Kalixta! She just hadto tell Kalixta how much fun she is going to have tomorrow! (I put the girls in the same preschool, but different times and days. I think it will be torture for me, but great for Kalixta and Britain!) She told me everyone's names, first and last! She gave me minute by minute details about the whole two hours always adding at the end of an activity, "Kalixta is going to like that." It was sweet to see how much she thought about Kalixta! Hopefully, after that build up, Kalixta's day tomorrow will be just as great!

My Garden

My garden started out great and then turned to a little disappointing when I only harvested two zucchinis. When we were gone to CA bugs got to my zucchini plants and destroyed them. I was so bummed. I felt a little better when Kalixta and I picked tons of radishes!

IMG_2515

IMG_2516

It got even better when the girls and I picked red, green, and yellow bell peppers, carrots, and tomatoes!

!cid_1656620089334324482821

Then today I went out and picked about 15 more tomatoes. Last year I had trouble with tomatoes so getting so many is really exciting. Although I do really miss all the zucchini!

Soccer Ammon

Ammon's soccer game Thursday was so fun to watch. He falls down all the time! He is not afraid to get in there and kick the ball. He is really tough when he plays. He got hit with the ball and didn't even flinch!
IMG_3460
He played goalie at his game. He didn't get one ball kick to him the entire time. So he played with the net, talked with his friends, and played in the dirt! It was great! Here you can tell he is not even looking in the direction of the ball!
IMG_3461
His team won 3-1, so to Ammon that is a great game! Zoe had a great game too. Her team won! Adam went to that one. It really is driving me crazy to have to split up. I hate not getting to watch everything!
